Chainbreakers, Inc. Is Proud to Be a Local Program Partner for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Portsmouth.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Republic of Ireland.

Feeding the Future
ChainBreakers, Inc., in partnership with Mt. Sinai Family Life Christian Center provides monthly food distribution to individuals and families in need on the third Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, in partnership with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.
This community outreach effort ensures access to nutritious food for those facing food insecurity in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. Through this ongoing collaboration, we are committed to meeting essential needs while offering hope, dignity, and support to our neighbors.

Too many of Portsmouth's kids have fallen behind in reading—not because they can’t learn, but because they haven’t had the right support. We’re here to change that.

Our program uses the Science of Reading to build strong foundations in phonological awareness, decoding, and fluency. Students get 10 hours of focused, small-group instruction, while parents and caregivers join workshops and commit to daily reading at home.

When families and educators team up, kids don’t just catch up—they take off. Every child deserves to read with confidence, and we’re making that possible!
